Harvest Festival Celebrations

As we head into harvest time we invite you to come along to Harvest Festival services, celebrations, and meals across the Beaminster area.

There are church events and celebration meals across the Beaminster Area Team into October. Services are in the respective village church unless otherwise noted.

Do come and join us, all are welcome.

Beaminster Harvest Festival Services
Sunday 22nd September – at St Mary’s Beaminster at 08:00 (BCP) and 09:30.

Beaminster “Harvest Home”
Friday 27th September – 19:00 at St Mary’s Church Beaminster.
A shared supper and barn dance.
Traditional jigs and reals with Beaminster band Raggy Annie and caller.
Bring your own drinks, and a plate of food to share (sweet or savoury). Homegrown entertainment – folk song, silly song, poem, or spooky tale – bring your party piece. We won’t mind if some prefer not to dance – just come and join the fun.
Free Entry – you don’t need a ticket.

Beaminster Harvest Festive Concert
With the Beaminster Gallery Quire.
Saturday 28th September – 19:30 at St Mary’s Church Beaminster.
Church and Village Music from two centuries ago: the time of the Mellstock Quire, and Thomas Hardy’s forebears. Psalms, anthems, song, and fiddle tunes.
Tickets £8 on the door (£15 for two).

Seaborough Harvest Festival Evensong
Sunday 29th September – 18:30 at St. John’s Church Seaborough.

Blackdown Harvest Festival Supper
Saturday October 19th – 19:00 for 19:30 at Blackdown Village Hall
Adult £10, Child £5, Family (2+2) £25.

Sunday 22nd September – 12:30 at Broadwindsor Comrades Hall.
Delicious hot lunch and scrumptious desserts.
Adults £10, under 16s £5.

Saturday 28th September – 19:00 in the church.
Bar and raffle. Please bring your own plate and cutlery.

Melplash Harvest Festival Service
Sunday 13th October at 16:00.

Melplash Harvest Festival Tea
Sunday 13th October – 17:00 in Melplash Village Hall.
There is no charge for tickets and all are welcome, including children of all ages.

Netherbury Harvest Raise the Roof
Saturday 21st September – 19:00 for 19:30 in the village hall.
Hot Buffet. Watkins & Swarbrick Band. Post supper quiet space with coffee in the Reading Room.

Tickets £7 (on the door) and children are free.
