The Beaminster Singers, accompanied by Antony Saunders on the piano, are offering singers a chance to taste the delights of Puccini’s dramatic and tuneful Messa di Gloria.
Puccini wrote Messa di Gloria in 1880 when he was just twenty-two years old. The piece displays a youthful joie de vivre more akin to the operatic stage than the liturgy of the church.
The event takes place on September 22nd at St Mary’s Church Beaminster. The day begins at 10.00 and will be spent reading through and studying this exciting piece with a couple of breaks for lunch and tea.
The day concludes at 17:00 with an informal performance of the work including the inspirational tenor and baritone solos.
Please come and join us.
