Eco-Church News March 2020

The latest Eco-Church news and events.

March – the month that sees two important happenings.

The Great British Spring Clean 20 March – 13 April

We will be registering Beaminster for this and plan to do one here on Saturday 4th April. Meet as usual at 10:30 outside the Public Hall. Our New Year Litter pick saw 15 taking part & we only were able to cover parts of Beaminster so please come along and join in if you are able. We will aim to provide refreshments afterwards.

Earth Hour Saturday 28th March 20:30 – 21:30

A movement started by WWF 13 years ago, the lights went out all over Sydney to mark the very first Earth Hour. Now Australia is burning – a sign of what’s to come if we don’t take action. Now famous landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building etc. and people around the world in their own homes switch off electricity. This is a call to reconnect to nature and draw attention to the issues our planet faces, to celebrate our natural world and put our planet on the path to recovery.

More people than ever before are waking up to the crisis. Whether it’s switching off your lights, switching off your phone or spending time with others – Earth Hour’s a time to reconnect to what’s important.

Why not plan a supper with a group of neighbours to take part in Earth Hour this year?
