From the Hub update March 25th 2022
For many years it has been the custom at Easter to take a special offering to say thank you to our Partner Priest and Lay Licensed Ministers (Lay Readers) for their ministry over the past year. They give their services without making a claim for their travelling, which across the breadth and depth of the team can be quite considerable. You can make your gift by placing a donation in one of the gift envelopes which will be available by contacting the Team Office or you may write Easter Offering on one of your own envelopes.
Due to the Covid Pandemic the last two years the donations have been greatly lower than previous years which affects the amount that the Team Council Treasurer Brian Ridley has been able to give. I hope that you will be able to support this offering over the next few weeks.
I am pleased to say that Fiona is now clear of the dreaded Covid. She will be returning to Kenya for the next two weeks so that she can help care for her mother who has undergone a surgical procedure. Please could you hold Fiona and her mum and dad in your prayers. I am in the process of making arrangements to cover the services that Fiona was due to lead for the next two Sundays and I will contact all churchwardens to let them know of the planned changes.
Thank you to those parishes holding Lent lunches. You can find information on where these are being held on the individual parish pages of the Team News. There is always a warm welcome for visitors from across the team.
Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church – such as Thursday Evening Prayers and our increasingly popular Gin Church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat video. And in person in Beaminster you can join us for Baby & Toddler Group on Monday mornings and our Walk In Wednesday social gathering on Wednesday mornings.
