Rector’s Weekly Update

The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update Friday 1st April 2022

On Sunday 3rd July our ordinand Sarah Keen will be ordained deacon by our new Diocesan Bishop Steven in Salisbury Cathedral. The service commences at 10.30am. Sarah will then serve her curacy in the Golden Cap Team based in Lyme Regis.

I have been asked if we are arranging a coach to take people to support Sarah. Anne has got quotes from local coach companies and the price will depend on the number who wish to attend. The coach would leave the square around 7.40am and leave Salisbury at 2pm to return. If you would like to support Sarah on this wonderful day please contact Anne in the office to give us some indication of the numbers. Once we set a final booking date any cancellations must be paid for in full.

Our annual parochial meetings continue at a pace. Tonight (Thursday) will be the eighth of twelve and I am pleased that we have welcomed a number of new members onto PCCs. We have also said goodbye to a number of faithful and long serving members. Once all are completed I will write more in a form of thank you to all who have stood down.

Social and fundraising events are an important part of the lives of our churches and I would be very happy to help advertise your events in this space and on the website. I do look through the Team News to pick them up but have missed some. So if you would like me to put your events into the hub please drop me an email with the details and I will do so. And to promote your events on the website email

Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church – such as Thursday Evening Prayers and our increasingly popular Gin Church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat video. And in person in Beaminster you can join us for Baby & Toddler Group on Monday mornings and our Walk In Wednesday social gathering on Wednesday mornings.
