Rector’s Weekly Update

The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update Good Friday 14th April 2022

There are many services around the Team during Holy Week and the full rota can be found in Team News or on our Services Page

We have been pleased to welcome a number of new people and families into our worshipping communities over this past few months. If you would like a visit from a member of the team, please contact us.

Thank you to everyone who helped with Holy Week and Easter preparations. I hope that you found the Holy Week reflections and online worship helpful. I have been really pleased to see the Easter Symbols that Fiona encouraged around the parishes.

A request for a volunteer. A Canadian family are clearing their Granny’s bungalow in Culverhayes prior to its sale and they have kindly donated household items to be sold at the Table Top Sale to be held in Beaminster Public Hall on Saturday 14th May 9.30am-1pm in support of Ukraine Relief. As the family will have returned to Canada by then, and there is enough merchandise to warrant another stall, would anyone in our local community like to volunteer to be a stall holder on this family’s behalf? If so, please have a word with Jane Evans 01308 862367. The family would like all proceeds from this stall to be donated to Ukraine Relief.

As you may have heard I had to take Jane into hospital on Tuesday. As I write on Wednesday lunchtime, she is waiting to have CT scans to see if the problems can be identified without invasive surgery. Thank you for all of your support and prayers at this time.

Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church – such as Thursday Evening Prayers and our increasingly popular Gin Church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat video. And in person in Beaminster you can join us for Baby & Toddler Group on Monday mornings and our Walk In Wednesday social gathering on Wednesday mornings.
