Rector’s Weekly Update

The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update Friday 6th May 2022

A few weeks ago I wrote about Sarah Keen’s ordination at SalisburyCathedral on Sunday 3rd July. So far we have had little response to the possible hire of a coach to take people. If we are to consider this Anne will need to know numbers in the next few weeks. If you are interested and would like to book a seat or get more information please contact Anne in the Church office.

Ascension Day is on Thursday 26th May and we will be holding our Ascension Day Team service at 7pm in Beaminster. I always find this to be an uplifting and joyous service. It is also a wonderful opportunity to meet up with friends from across the parishes of the team. I look forward to seeing you.

A further thank you to you all for the many kind words of support for Jane at this time. Having spent a further time in hospital last Sunday she is now home under the care of myself and the GP. It transpires that following Covid her immune system was compromised leading to inflammation in her stomach and digestive system. She is still experiencing times of pain and is still only able to tolerate fluids at this time. However the many gifts of flowers not only bring her cheer but also make the Rectory resemble the Hot House at Kew Gardens. Once again thank you.

Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church – such as Thursday Evening Prayers and our increasingly popular Gin Church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat video. And in person in Beaminster you can join us for Baby & Toddler Group on Monday mornings and our Walk In Wednesday social gathering on Wednesday mornings.
