From the Hub update Friday 13th May 2022
Christian Aid week starts this Sunday 15th and I am very grateful to Judith Hansen who continues to coordinate this vitally important event across the team. Thanks also to the parish coordinators for their hard work. However you choose to raise funds locally I hope that you have a good response. Please do read the Tailpiece article that Judith has prepared for this month’s Team News as it highlights the importance of this year’s fundraising.
As we approach the special time of celebration for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations I am aware that there are many activities planned across the communities within the team area. I am delighted that in Mosterton the Church is planning a Jubilee Fun Day on the village green coordinated by Sharyn Brown and Graham Fry on Saturday 4th June.
We have now been sent the liturgy resources for use at services during this time. There will be a Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving at St Mary’s Beaminster at 5pm on Thursday 2nd June. This is of course open to everyone from the team and we would look forward to welcoming you.
Following a further five days in DCH Jane is now home and recuperating on a combination of medication, rest and reintroduction of a light diet. We are both very grateful for all of your continued prayers and kind words and gifts. Please do not be alarmed if you see me hobbling around with a walking stick. This was given to me by the physiotherapist earlier this week to give me greater stability whilst a decision is made on the next course of action for my arthritic knee joint. I really think that he was concerned about me falling and damaging the pavement.
Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church – such as our increasingly popular Gin Church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat video. And in person in Beaminster you can join us for Baby & Toddler Group on Monday mornings and our Walk In Wednesday social gathering on Wednesday mornings.
