The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update Friday 27th May 2022
Over this coming week there are many church based events to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Below are the events that I am aware of.
Beaminster
On Saturday 28th May at 4pm in Beaminster we have a special Jubilee Messy Church. Join in with activities, crafts, songs, games, bible story and prayers. You can read more on the event’s own page.
On Thursday 2nd at 12pm there is an organ recital of music for a royal occasion. This will be given by Carl Jackson MVO. There is no admission charge but a retiring collection will be available.
Also on Thursday 2nd at 5pm there will be a service of celebration and thanksgiving for the loyal Service of Queen Elizabeth II and we will welcome all from across the team.
Mosterton
On Saturday 4th there will be a Jubilee fun day afternoon on the village green. This will include games played 70 years ago such as hopscotch, table skittles, tug ‘o war, and bash the rat. It is a totally free event. For more info see the advert on page 24 of this month’s Team News Magazine.
Broadwindsor
On Friday 3rd there will be a cream tea, memorabilia, and floral display in church and on Sunday the 4th there will be a Jubilee Songs of Praise Service at 11am.
There are many other community based events and you can find out about these either on village websites or in the Team News.
Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church – such as our increasingly popular Gin Church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat video. And in person in Beaminster you can join us for Baby & Toddler Group on Monday mornings and our Walk In Wednesday social gathering on Wednesday mornings.
