The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update Friday 3rd June 2022
This is a week of thanks to all those who have worked so hard to make our churches a welcoming place for this Jubilee weekend. Special thanks to our flower arrangers for all their hard work recently.
You may like to visit Broadwindsor for its Open Church Floral Display and Cream Tea event. Also to Sharyn Brown and her team for putting so much time and effort into Saturday’s fun afternoon on the Village Green in Mosterton.
Thanks to Peter Nardone for arranging the wonderful Lunchtime Concert given by Carl Jackson MVO and to Jo and Anne for preparing the service and sheets for the Celebration Service on Thursday evening. not forgetting our wonderful bell ringers who are ringing to celebrate this special Jubilee.
A final thank you to everyone in Netherbury for the magnificent Open Gardens last weekend.
I know that many of you have been supporting your communities in many ways at this time and I thank you all most sincerely. On behalf of our partner priests I would also like to thank those who gave their Easter Offerings this year. This money has now been distributed to our retired clergy who do a magnificent job in enabling us to provide services across the Team.
Jane and I would like to thank you for your continued good wishes and prayers as she continues her rehabilitation. She was seen by our GP on Tuesday who said that on the day I called 999 and she was rushed into hospital for a third time she was very lucky to have survived as not many would have survived the blood potassium level she had that day. I will always be grateful for the skill and professionalism of the ambulance crew that came out and for the prayers that were being offered at that time. Thankfully she is making steady progress and is building her strength up thanks to my excellent skill in poaching lots of fish and chicken. I will be moving onto eggs next week. Thank you to all who have called her and for the visits which have allowed me to escape on Saturday afternoons.
Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church – such as our increasingly popular Gin Church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat video. And in person in Beaminster you can join us for Baby & Toddler Group on Monday mornings and our Walk In Wednesday social gathering on Wednesday mornings.
