The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update Friday 15th July 2022
Monday 18th sees the meeting of the Team Council. The membership of Team Council under the Team Council Measure is one Churchwarden and one other PCC member elected at the Annual Meeting. I have opened these meetings up to anyone who would like to attend.
The main business of the evening is a presentation by Anna Hardy the Diocesan Fundraising and Stewardship Advisor who will help us to explore new ways of looking at these topics. I have spoken with a number of my colleagues across the diocese who have had Anna visit their PCC or Synod meetings and they all speak highly of her approach and message. The Team Council meeting starts at 7pm in St Mary’s Beaminster and I look forward to seeing you there to welcome Anna on her first visit to the Beaminster Team.
I am very grateful to all who have contributed to my Match The Bishop’s Talent Fund. The present total stands at £275.00 from a £10.00 start. As I have already written I am trying to raise funds to form a fund for the relief of hardship as the financial challenges and difficulties begin to hit home.
The Beaminster Team has a long history of generosity to those in difficulty and this continues with the support of the foodbank and donations made to homeless charities such as Pilsdon and Crisis. You can make a donation by placing your gift into an envelope and marking it Talent and either giving to myself or to Anne in the office. Once again thank you for your generosity.
Online Worship at Home video services continue every week. The online community continues to be an important part of our church – such as our increasingly popular Gin Church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat video. And in person in Beaminster you can join us for Baby & Toddler Group on Monday mornings and our Walk In Wednesday social gathering on Wednesday mornings.
