Rector’s Weekly Update

The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update Friday 19th August 2022

This year’s Dorset Historic Churches Ride and Stride Event takes place on Saturday 10th September. This is the Trust’s main fundraising event each year and it is also an opportunity for individual churches to raise funds for themselves. If you would like to support your church by taking part in this and to be sponsored whilst doing so (sponsorship is split 50-50 between your church and the DHCT) then please check who is the organiser for your church and get a form. It would be really nice if we ensure that all our churches have a welcome notice and refreshments available on the day.

Jo will be away next week tutoring at the Summer School at Sarum College and then she will be taking her annual two week summer break returning to duty on Monday 12th September, During this time please direct all calls and messages to myself at the Rectory.

This week’s update on the £10 Talent challenge – the total that you have helped to match now stands at a glorious £755.00. I am so grateful to all who have donated so far. You can of course still do so by placing your donation in an envelope marked ‘Talent’ and handing it to me or leaving it with Anne in the Team Office in Hogshill Street.

The diocese of Salisbury is organising a rural ministry day at Kingston Maurward on 1st October. You can book your free place online. Do come and join in and be equipped to do new things in your community.

We are thinking of organising a team social activity in the late autumn. If you are interested in being part of a team organising a tea dance on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon in November then please register your interest with Jo via email – revneary@gmail.com.
