Rector’s Weekly Update

The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update Friday 14th October 2022

This year’s Team Annual Memorial Service, at which we remember all those who have died, will take place at 4pm on Sunday 30th October in St Mary’s Beaminster. I have written to all those families who we have helped with bereavement ministry and funerals over the past year inviting them to join us. If you would like a loved one remembered in the prayers please call into the office and give their names to Anne or add them to the list at the back of church in Beaminster. We look forward to welcoming you to the service.

Last week I wrote of the death of Wendy Simmons, former treasurer to Beaminster PCC. This was just one of the many community organisations that Wendy gave her time to support. Wendy’s funeral service will take place at 1pm this Thursday 20th October, in St Mary’s Beaminster and I hope that many will be able to join Gordon and the family at this time.

It is also sad that Marjorie Aird, another long time member of the Beaminster congregation, died last Monday. Marjorie also gave many hours of her time to the church including being a member of the stewarding team and the Walk in Wednesday team. Funeral arrangements are still to be made at the time of writing.

Ten Pound Challenge update. I have received a number of very generous donations this past week taking the total that you have raised for the relief of hardship fund to a magnificent £975. It would be wonderful to top the thousand pound total and any gifts can be left in an envelope marked Talent in the Church Office in Hogshill Street.
