From the Hub update Friday 2nd December 2022
It is with further sadness that I inform you of the deaths of two faithful church members on Sunday last week.
Duncan Harris was a member of St Giles’ Hooke where he was PCC Secretary and a member of the Organist Team. Duncan loved the area and wrote booklets on Hooke. Later he and Patricia lived in Beaminster where they joined the congregation of St Mary’s.
Esther Nicholson who was a faithful servant as Churchwarden to St John’s Seaborough for many years but latterly had lived in Beaminster.
I will provide details of their funeral services next week.
Thank you to Lewis and Malcolm and the team in Netherbury for preparing the church so beautifully for last week’s team Advent Carol service. Thanks also to the choir who sang so wonderfully led by Peter Nardone and Peter Aves.
I have sent the two addresses given by David Campbell at the Advent Quiet Day to those who have asked for them. If you would like copies please email me and I will forward them onto you.
Please keep a look out for the stones that have been placed around town and villages. They carry this year’s National Church Theme ‘Follow the Star – The great invitation’ to find out what it is pointing to: the person of Jesus and the light he brings to each of us.
