From the Hub update Friday 20th January 2023
Fiona informed us that her mother had died early on Monday morning. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her and her father. The funeral service will take place in Kenya on the 28th of January. We have reassured Fiona that she can take whatever !me she needs to help her father at this time. Rotas are covered for the rest of this month and I will do so for February if and when required.
It was also with great sadness that we were informed of the sudden death of Harold Jenkins last Saturday morning. Harold was a bellringer at Broadwindsor and represented Burstock on the Three Churches PCC. Harold was also a communion assistant at Burstock. There will be a private funeral service at the crematorium with a thanksgiving service at a later date. Once again our thoughts and prayers go to Margaret and her family at this time.
A couple of events that are coming up are a Cheese and Wine Evening in aid of St Giles Church in Hooke at The Old School House on Saturday 28th January. Tickets are available from Pauline Wallbridge priced £12.00. There will be a Netherbury Village breakfast between 09.00 and 11.30 in the Village Hall on Sunday 29th January with Proceeds going to The Friends of St Mary’s Netherbury.
