From the Hub update Friday 24th March 2023
Many thanks to all of those who made posies for distribution at last Sunday’s Mothering Sunday services. They looked beautiful and certainly did the job of refreshing the Sunday in Lent known as Refreshment Sunday. I am very grateful for the time and efforts of so many of you.
Thanks also to the Big Church Breakfast Team at Toller Porcorum for the time and hard work that you put into last Saturday’s event. This was a wonderful opportunity to meet up with village residents and to hear some of their stories. It also raised a significant sum for church funds.
A final thank you this week to all of you who have sent Jane cards, flowers, and messages wishing her well. This past week she has undergone further tests ahead of an appointment with the Cardiac Clinic at DCH. She has been comforted by your thoughts and prayers.
Next Sunday is Palm Sunday and this begins Holy Week. There are many opportunities for everyone to share in the times of prayer, reflective
meditations and worship throughout the week. Thursday begins the Holy Three Days with Maundy Thursday Holy Communion, Stripping of the Altar and Vigil at the Altar of Repose all beginning at 7pm. On Good Friday there are services at the foot of the cross in many of the villages and the traditional three hours with our Lord on the cross beginning at 12 noon in Beaminster. This service will follow the Good Friday Messy Church.
