Rector’s Weekly Update

The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub Weekly Update Friday 11th December, 2020

As another week passes in which we have seen the beginning of the vaccine programme, there have been no changes to the guidelines that affect worship in church. However, we must remain vigilant at all times and ensure that we continue our strict adherence to what is asked of us whether worshiping in our buildings or outside to allow singing. Singing in groups is the most likely vehicle for spreading the virus by aerosol and droplet and this has a higher possibility as people gather together from different areas of the country.

I thank you all for the outstanding way in which you have supported the staff team with your preparations for Christmas events and would just remind you to let Harry know of any arrangements that are required in your parishes for reserving seats for Christmas services so that he can place them on the website and A Church Near You. This becomes especially relevant if you have a Full House and we can then direct people to another church.

This weekend South Perrott continues with its Christmas Tree Festival which has been well supported by the village and Toller Porcorum is holding its Christmas Takeaway Dinner. The Advent Window displays can still be seen in a number of our villages.

I still have a number of days of annual leave untaken so I will be on leave next Monday to Thursday and Jo will respond to your calls or enquiries.

Keep Safe.

Messy Church is at 4pm on Saturday 12th December live on Facebook or watch later by finding the video on our Facebook page.

Please encourage people to reserve places for Christmas services, including Crib services at Beaminster on Mon 21st, Tues 22nd and Wed 23rd December at 4pm. Email or phone the office leaving a message or drop a note through the door.

Please pray for our schools and preschools in the final week of term.
