Rector’s Weekly Update

The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub Covid-19 update 5th February 2021

It has been good to speak this week with some of you on the phone as I have been trying to keep in touch. I will be continuing to make calls over the following week and hopefully will call you. Thank you to all who are keeping in contact across the villages and for letting me know those who you feel could do with a conversation. I would also like to thank Barbara Simmonds for her faithful ministry of prayer for  those we are asked to pray for. If you would like prayers offered for someone that you know would appreciate this ministry then please let us know.

I would also like to thank all who are watching over the security of  our church buildings and for those who are opening and closing them each day allowing for the private prayers of our communities.

Many of you will have heard that Bishop Nicholas announced earlier this week that he will be retiring on July 3rd after ten years as Diocesan Bishop of Salisbury. I will forever be grateful for his firm but kind leadership and spiritual direction. I am sure that in due course we will be offered the opportunity to contribute to a gift for him and his wife Helen as they prepare to move to Brighton to be nearer to their family.

We continue to offer Worship and bible study online and Fiona has sent the following links to Sunday Coffee Morning at 10.00 am, the Sunday Evening Prayers at 3.30 pm – which a number of people are enjoying as it allows interaction on Zoom – and the Tuesday Lunchtime Bible Study and fellowship at 12.00 noon

Finally, it is with great sadness that I let you know of the death of Rupert Best of Hincknowle, Melplash earlier this week. The Best family have been faithful members of Melplash Church for many years and both his father and brother James served as Church Wardens. Please hold Rupert and his family in your prayers at this time.

Every blessing for the coming week.
