The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub Covid-19 update 19th March 2021
One week passeth and a new one, dawneth. Well it sounds a little BCP doesn’t it? Things must be looking up as I have spent many hours this week rearranging and arranging weddings; including an enquiry for 2023, creating rotas, throw in a few funerals, school governor meeting, church building projects and faculties, and it almost seemed like old times. So roll on the new post covid era is what I say.
There will be services for Palm Sunday in Beaminster and Blackdown and you will have seen the rota for April. While many of our churches have been open for private prayer and reflection during lockdown a number may not have been. Prior to opening please can you ensure that a full clean is undertaken. We are required to return to the full Covid safety guidelines and practices including wearing face masks, sanitizing stations, one way system etc. If you require new supplies of any of these please email Anne who will still be working from home for the time being. It may also be worth downloading and printing the updated posters from the government website for display. Please ensure that you update your risk assessments and email me a copy for my records.
We will be sending out the annual reflections for use during Holy Week early next week. Please can you ensure that anyone who would like a copy of them is able to do so. If you are going to leave them in church for use by those visiting for private prayer a note asking them to take them away with them will be required. Due to the number of services on Easter Day I do not have enough communion sets to send out with the clergy so please can you ensure that you lay up the altar table and credence tables as you would have done pre Covid.
Fiona is still waiting with eager excitement to offer help with Easter Gardens or prayer spaces so please do get in touch with her if you would like help or advice.
We will be continuing with our weekly online service and all the other media output on Facebook, Twitter etc.
This coming Tuesday 23rd March is the national day of remembrance to mark the first anniversary of Covid lockdown. This is an initiative from The Marie Curie Foundation and there will be a minutes silence at 12 mid day. They are asking for church bells to be tolled one time for every thousand deaths you can find more on the Marie Curie website.
Once again I am genuinely grateful for all the support and help that you have given to me over these past 12 months under circumstances that I never thought I would experience in my life, never mind my ministry. May God continue to shower you all with His love and blessings.
David
