From the Hub Covid-19 update 23rd April 2021
It seems as if so much has changed since my last update and there feels a definite sense of optimism going forward. It is good to be back to gathered worship in our buildings, even if we are still having to stay safe and adhere to distancing rules. I know that one of the biggest niggles for us all is not being able to have congregational singing, but having gone this long and for everyone’s safety a few more months are worth it if it is going to help us control this merciless virus.
Thank you to all who are busily getting everything together for the upcoming APCMs. I will be finalising the annual clergy report this weekend and it will be sent out to secretaries early next week for distribution ahead of the meetings.
As we return to worship, the weekly update will end in this format and it will return to its former Hub News (Can you believe it is over six years ago I broke my leg and ankle?) position on the weekly Pew News sheets. Anne will be corresponding separately with you about numbers you will require etc. Please do continue to pass these on to as many people as possible. The Pew News in its present format was created by Tim Biles as a way of encouraging parishes across the team to keep in touch with each other and to pray together and for the needs of each parish. It is worth noting that Anne is now back in the office and that you can drop in for photocopying etc if you are in Beaminster.
This weekend we see the welcome return of weddings in our churches and Jo is starting to receive enquiries and bookings for baptisms. All in all, we rejoice that God is great and that his love and mercy endure forever.
