The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update 28th May 2021
There has been no undercover relaxation of the Covid guidelines in the past week. However, I have received a sharp rise in bookings for church based funeral services over the next few weeks as a result in the increase of numbers allowed to attend. Just to reiterate, under these guidelines we can allow attendance up to the number that each church building can safely seat within the present distancing guidelines. If I get a request for any of our churches I will work with the Church Wardens and key parish people to work out how we best optimize the space available to us.
As we begin to see a gradual relaxation of the strict guidelines I know that many of you are beginning to look towards how you can organise events that will bring the community together in much needed social and fundraising events. If you would like advice on the present (and future) implications and application of current Covid safety guidelines, including how to prepare risk assessments for events, please do contact me.
Two important dates for your diary. The Team Council will meet on Monday 28th June at 7pm in St Mary’s Beaminster. The agenda will include the approval of the Team financial accounts and financial matters and the ratification of Brian Ridley as Team Treasurer following the death of Robin Musson last December. There will also be a time for parishes to share on what effects the Covid Pandemic has had on team churches and communities.
This point leads onto the second meeting on Monday 26th July at 7pm to begin conversations on the reorganisation of the Team in light of the inability of many of our churches to find full sets of officers required to lead the parishes forward. I have asked The Venerable Patrick Evans, Archdeacon Emeritus of Canterbury, to chair this evening and over the coming weeks as I begin to develop this matter more distinctly I will let you know more. Both of these evenings are open meetings and free to all to attend.
Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before.
