The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update 16th July 2021
As I write this on Wednesday evening so that Anne can prepare the Pew News first thing on Thursday morning, the National Church Covid Response Committee, headed by the Bishop of London, is still waiting for guidance and advice from the Government Office. I will forward this to you when I receive it.
After numerous conversations with church members as I have travelled around the team for services and PCC Meetings, I still sense an air of caution and concern about the coming weeks and a full lifting of all the covid safety precautions we have been living with. The advice I have offered to PCCs is that we still need to recognise that not everyone is ready for full removal of safety and for a while we will have to respect each other’s fears and concerns. However, the rules will change giving more freedom and we all will have to begin to live with them.
In the meanwhile my advice is:
- Please continue to sanitise your hands on entering the church and after any contact with someone else.
- Please continue to wear your mask whilst moving around in church but if you wish, remove it whilst the services are in progress.
- During periods of singing please respect those who see this as an unnecessary risk of spreading the infection through droplet transmission.
Thank you for your continued support at this time.
Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. There are weekly videos for children and schools. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat podcast. And places are available for Monday’s baby and toddler group. You may be interested in joining us for a performance by the Keld Ensemble at St Mary’s Beaminster.
