Rector’s Weekly Update

The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update 13th August 2021

As we continue to return to some kind of normal across our churches, it is good to see more people returning week on week. While wearing of masks is now seen by the government as a personal choice, a significant number of people have expressed their concern to me about people not wearing masks in church whilst walking about and talking across people. I have throughout this pandemic said that if people feel safe they will come. Please consider wearing a mask to protect others while in church.

Congratulations to all at South Perrott on the success of the Flower Festival last weekend. It was really nice to meet so many people around the church and the village having an enjoyable time. Personally, the afternoon was a huge success after my win on the Bottle Tombola.

As more and more activities are taking place in our churches and communities please do let us know and we can advertise them on the Pew News, this website, social media, and also try to get along and join in.

This week in our cycle of prayer we are praying for the parishes of Broadwindsor with Blackdown and Burstock, the Church and Chapel Wardens, and key people in the communities who keep our churches open and welcoming and those who maintain the churchyards.

Thanks to all who came along to Baby & Toddler Group – the group takes a break for August but will be back in September.

Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat video.
