The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update 22nd October 2021
Next Sunday is All Saints’/All Souls’ tide and we will be holding our annual memorial service in which we remember the departed. I have written to all the families for whom we have led funerals in the past twelve months, inviting them to join us for the service or to have the names of their loved ones prayed for during the service. We would love to see members of our team churches join us for this occasion. If you would like the name of a loved one read out and prayed for at this service please contact Anne in the office or send me an email, there is also a list at the back of church in Beaminster that you can add names to.
As the Covid virus numbers grow locally, especially amongst our schools and families, Jo felt that it was necessary – after consultation with the other leaders – to cancel Saturday’s Messy Church. I would welcome any comments or observations that you have on the present situation. The national guidelines set by the Government do not include the reintroduction of compulsory face mask wearing or social distancing and communal singing is still presently allowed. The next potential large gatherings in churches will be Remembrance Sunday. I believe that we have to respond to local conditions but without spreading unnecessary panic. Thoughts please. In our cycle of prayer this week we are praying for the church and community in Hooke. Please pray for Pauline and Brian their Church Wardens and all who serve in the parish.
Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat video.
