Rector’s Weekly Update

The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update January 7th 2022

We have begun the gentle post-Christmas return. I hope you all had a good break, remained healthy, and got to see friends and family without too much Covid disruption.

The government has continued with Plan B for the time being – which means we are still wearing masks in church please, sanitising hands, giving each other space, and using lateral flow tests where appropriate. Please do not attend church if you are displaying any Covid symptoms or have had a positive test. Our online worship continues every week and is available on our Worship at Home page.

If you fancy some spiritual reading before Lent then you might like to join in with reading Dear England by Stephen Cottrell, the Archbishop of York. We will be meeting on Monday 14th Feb at 2.30pm to discuss the book and its themes over tea and cake in St Mary’s Church Beaminster.

Perhaps you would like to join us in prayer every week on a Thursday at 7pm? This is currently via Zoom and is a good hour to catch up, read scripture together, and pray for the needs of the team. All the details on this page.

Please also keep our schools in your prayers as they return, particularly for Darren Marklew the new headteacher of Beaminster St Mary’s Academy, who has started his new job by having to be off with Covid. We pray for his recovery and for his work and flourishing as the new headteacher.

David and Jane are enjoying their Christmas break this week and David will be back to work on Tuesday 11th January.

With every blessing, Jo
