The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update January 23rd 2022
I have had a couple of conversations regarding Lent courses this past week. Rev Jo and I have started looking at possible material and we will soon make suggestions for you. If you are interested in running a study course this Lent please could you let me know so that we can try and give any support that may be needed. We hope to be able to run at least one group centrally and one online group to cover as many bases as possible.
As you will have heard, the Plan B Covid restrictions are being lifted over the coming week. I have spoken with a couple of concerned church wardens about what this means for worship and church activities. My advice at this moment is that whilst we can not enforce anything that is not a legal requirement, we are able to encourage general hygiene and wellbeing. So the offering of hand sanitising and wearing of masks whilst moving about the buildings could still be included in your risk assessments should you feel it is right to do so.
Once I have read any updates I will advise further next week. I am very grateful and thankful for all that you continue to do to uphold the work of the church and the safety of all those who we come into contact with through the ministry we share together.
Team Council representatives, please note that there will be a meeting on Monday 21 February, 7pm at St Mary’s Beaminster. All relevant paperwork will be sent out prior to that meeting. If you are unable to attend, please send your apologies to Anne in the Church Office.
Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church – such as Thursday Evening Prayers and our increasingly popular Gin Church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat video. And in person in Beaminster you can join us for Baby & Toddler Group on Monday mornings and our Walk In Wednesday social gathering on Wednesday mornings.
