Rector’s Weekly Update

The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update January 28th 2022

As you may have read on our media releases or heard, the Vicarage in Broadwindsor has received an unwelcome visit from cousin Covid. Jo is presently isolating as she has tested positive. Following the required course of action and requiring negative tests on appropriate days, she is likely to be out of circulation until early in the week.

Jo informed me that I will be contacted by Track and Trace with further advice. As I write this on Thursday morning I still await that contact but will of course pass on whatever I receive as and when I get it. On behalf of us all I wish everyone at the Vicarage a speedy recovery.

The annual parish statistics returns were originally required to have been completed by Monday, although that deadline has now been extended to the end of March. However, I would be grateful if PCC Secs/Churchwardens can confirm when this has been done. These are nationally required stats and not the ones submitted later in the year that help to form the Parish Share calculation for next year.

I have been asked by a number of people when the funeral service for Keith Miller, former churchwarden of Toller Porcorum will take place . This will be on Monday 7th February at 2pm at Toller. I have passed on the condolences of many from across the team who enjoyed Keith’s friendship.

Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church – such as Thursday Evening Prayers and our increasingly popular Gin Church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat video. And in person in Beaminster you can join us for Baby & Toddler Group on Monday mornings and our Walk In Wednesday social gathering on Wednesday mornings.
