Rector’s Weekly Update

The Beaminster Area Team
From the Hub update February 24th 2022

This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and begins the season of Lent. There will be Holy Communion for the whole Team at Beaminster at 10am (said) and 7pm (sung with hymns) and Seaborough at 7pm (BCP). All services will include the imposition of ashes. We hope to see you at one of these services on this traditional day of obligation.

It is good to hear that a number of Lent Course books have been ordered through the Team Office. It would be very helpful to hear from you if you are intending to join any of the groups, but especially the day time course in Beaminster Church which begins on Tuesday 8th March at 2pm, or the online course which will be led by Fiona as she will need to be able to send out the online invitation for you to join by Zoom. If you need help with this please contact Fiona asap.

I would like to say a big thank you to Churchwardens and key people across the churches for the diligence in reporting damage to some of the buildings in last weekend’s storms. Thankfully there was no major damage, but slates and tiles were lost at Salway Ash, Mosterton, and Melplash who also had a second tree/bush blown down and at Beaminster where a branch came off the neighbour’s tree onto the newly repaired wall.

Online Worship at Home video services continue even though churches are open. The online community continues to be an important part of our church – such as Thursday Evening Prayers and our increasingly popular Gin Church. As usual each Sunday’s video service will be available on the day before. We hope you continue to enjoy our weekly Rev Chat video. And in person in Beaminster you can join us for Baby & Toddler Group on Monday mornings and our Walk In Wednesday social gathering on Wednesday mornings.
