Suspension of Services

Due to the current public health emergency we are suspending services in our church buildings until further notice.

Suspension of Services in the Beaminster Area Team

I have this morning taken the decision to suspend all acts of public worship across the parishes of The Beaminster Area Team Ministry. I am very grateful to my Church Warden colleges and Parochial Church Councils for their support and understanding.

Since I consulted with PCCs earlier this week there has been a huge increase in the number of new cases across the whole of West Dorset. When the daily death rate is at nearly 1500 nationally I deem that the risk to individuals is too great to continue holding services. Team Churches will continue to be available for private prayer, and as a quiet reflective space within their communities, but please adhere at all times with the Covid security measures that are in place. This decision will be kept under constant review but I do not expect any change in the near future.

Life event services, funerals, and weddings will continue to be conducted under the strict Government guidelines.

Do keep an eye on this site as there will be further updates. Remember just because services are suspended in churches it does not mean there are no services. We have a weekly Worship at Home video service, and we have other ways to engage with each other on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Please continue to pray for all those who work on the Covid frontline and those who are  working tirelessly to get the vaccine programme out to as many people as possible as quickly as possible.

Please keep well and stay safe.
