Advent Reflection – Day 04

An Advent Reflection by Prebendary Alastair Wheeler, Retired clergyman with the Beaminster Team.

Read

Luke 1:13-15 But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will name him John. You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He must never drink wine or strong drink; even before his birth he will be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Reflect

How are your preparations for Christmas? All done or not started? God’s messenger tells Zechariah that he and his wife are key parts of God’s preparation for Jesus. At long last they are to have a son, John. John the Baptist will live a God centred simple life and get everyone ready for Jesus.

Pray

For those who long for things to happen, waiting for hopes and dreams to be fulfilled

Act

Who do you know waiting for news, unsure of the future? What can you do this month to show you care?
