Ascension

In the latest Beaminster school’s collective worship video Rev Jo talks about Jesus ascending into Heaven.

Some activities thinking about Jesus ascending to Heaven

What can you find that can float up into the air? Bubbles? A feather? A piece of tissue paper? Blow some bubbles and watch them float up into the air and imagine what it must have been like to watch Jesus float up to heaven.

Look at some of the pictures for the Ascension – try drawing a picture for yourself. What kind of faces do the disciples need? What do you think they were thinking.

They watched Jesus depart from a top of a mountain. Build yourself a mountain at home with Lego or cushions, or books. Put a figure on top, a cuddly toy or a Lego figure, then “ascend” them into heaven.
