This month we celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight 21st February – 6th March. Taking part in this will show solidarity with those on the frontline of the climate crisis.
COP26 didn’t deliver the change needed to stay within 1.5℃. Nor did it secure finance to directly support farmers and workers on the frontline, but the Fairtrade Foundation believes there is hope if we all act together.
The climate crisis is the biggest threat to the livelihoods of millions of small-scale farmers and agricultural workers in low-income countries worldwide. These farmers need financial help to mitigate and adapt techniques to protect the environment and their businesses.
Buying Fairtrade items helps support the farmers. COP may be over, but we need to make sure climate justice remains a top priority.
Please come and enjoy cake and coffee in the Strode Room in Beaminster (map below) on Saturday 26th February from 10am to 12 noon. We will have Fairtrade goods on sale at the event and after the 9.30am Beaminster Sunday service on 27th February and 6th March.
