As I write in the middle of a heat wave our Carbon Zero Project of ASHPs and Solar Panels is nearing completion. This has been funded by a generous grant of 40% from Low Carbon Dorset, a £10,000 donation and the PCC. The church will be showcased as part of Dorset Greener Homes in early October.
September 18th to the 25th is the national Big Green Week. Main events near here are in Bridport with the launch marked by a gathering on Millennium Green from 10:30 to 14:30, with stalls, music, speeches, and at around 12 noon the Mayor will read out the Bridport Proclamation.
Check out the Bridport town council website for the many activities through the week..
A useful new initiative when considering how you can reduce your energy bills is LEAP (Local Energy Advice Partnership). This is
funded by the council and delivered by Ridgewater Energy. It provides free impartial energy advice, access to funding for insulation and heating improvements and referrals to other agencies.
Ridgewater’s experienced and qualified energy assessors will arrange a free home visit in order to identify any potential energy saving improvements required, to ensure funding is identified, and the relevant works are installed. To find out if you’re eligible and for more information, please visit the LEAP website.
