Collect for the 11th Sunday after Trinity
O God, you declare your almighty power
most chiefly in showing mercy and pity:
mercifully grant to us such a measure of your grace,
that we, running the way of your commandments,
may receive your gracious promises,
and be made partakers of your heavenly treasure;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Our hymn today, Though Art The Christ, was recorded by the musicians of St Martin in the Fields.
The voluntary, details below, was recorded by the Director of Music at St Mary’s Beaminster, Martin Schellenberg. It was recorded on the organ St Mary’s Beaminster.
There are two organ pieces this week: The first is the ethereal Chant de Paix by the blind French organist and composer Jean Langlais. The very slow-moving chords in the hands are balanced with a gentle tune in the pedals, played on a flute stop. The second piece is the well-known Trumpet Minuet by the 18th century British composer, John Stanley.
