When the month gives us the bonus of five Sundays it is great to gather together as a team of churches and share in worship. For Mothering Sunday there are two team services, both at St Mary’s Beaminster.
At 8am we have a simple said communion service using the Book of Common Prayer. This service takes about half an hour, with a short reflection on the bible passage, no hymns and an opportunity to share bread and wine together.
At 10am we have Breakfast Church. This service is more informal, seated around tables, cafe style, with food and drink to share together for breakfast. We will sing songs, listen to a bible story, discuss the passage and pray. There will be activities for children to join in with as well as creative opportunities for all ages. This service will last an hour. Everyone is welcome to join together round the cafe tables: old or young, with children, or without, on your own or with others. There will be posies of flowers to take away after the service
We will be celebrating Mothering Sunday at the 10am service but we are aware that it can be a difficult day for many people. Therefore, we will be acknowledging that in our prayers and in our discussion. We hope everyone will feel welcome to join us.
