November 2022 Eco Church Update

One of the aspects of ECO Church is to support the global community as well as our local one. This month there are 3 significant enterprises we can all support.

November is World Toilet Twinning Day. The idea is that you raise money to twin your toilet with one to be built in a village in a developing country where there isn’t one. In these villages hygiene is difficult and disease results causing poverty to escalate. We will also collect at Beaminster Church hopefully to twin a local community toilet. If you would like to donate to this please drop in on Walk in Wednesdays or the Church Office during November where there will be a suitable collecting receptacle.

Charity Christmas cards can be ordered from Traidcraft and in that way we can support those in underdeveloped countries where many are living on the breadline or starving because of climate change. We will have a table display of cards for you to chose from after the 9.30 Sunday Service on 6th November and at Walk in Wednesday on 9 November from 10:45 to 12 noon.

Christian Aid is asking us to “Take Action Now’ as COP26 takes place this month. Polluters must take action to repair what’s damaged by the climate crisis. Write to Chris Loder MP to ask that the government act on its pledges.
