Last month we celebrated Harvest with a Barn Dance in the Church on Saturday 26 and a Harvest Festival service on the Sunday. At this we thought about creation and all God has given us to enjoy and take care of. A very big thank you to our pubs, cafes, and shops who donated generous vouchers and gifts for the raffle for the Fairtrade coffee morning also in church Saturday October 3 from 10-12 noon. We will be donating the proceeds to Fairtrade farmers who struggle with the effects of climate change. This according to scientist and experts is due to our misuse of earth’s resources contributing to global warming.
The bees in the churchyard are doing well this year and will hopefully survive the winter if they have made enough honey to feed on. They have an insulating pad to keep them warm.
The Eco Church 10th Anniversary Celebration in Mint Methodist Church, Exeter from 2-5pm takes place on Saturday 17 October. This will an excellent and interesting event with Workshops as well. You can find more details on this page.
