September 2025 Eco Church Update

As I write this the Churchyard Gardening Team plus others are tackling the annual task of scything the areas of long grass. Throughout the summer the areas have been full of butterflies, bees and other insects feasting off the pollinating wild flowers.

This dry and hot summer has helped us with the raking and moving the long grass to the compost heap. We are doing this in stages with a wonderful team of helpers. We will finish with a Rake and Cake Tea hopefully by the end of the month. The areas will then be mowed short ready for the winter.

An Eco Church team will be meeting soon to plan the children’s activities for the Beaminster Big Green Day. The event takes place on Saturday 27 September, 10am to 3pm at Beaminster School. Outside if dry, inside if wet, access by foot Fleet Street or by car please use the school car park off the Tunnel Road entrance.
