Advent Reflection – Day 22

An Advent Reflection by Rev Fiona Beale.

Read

Luke 2:9-14 Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favours!”

Reflect

As we listen to God today. What is he saying, about our spiritual journey through this celebration of Jesus’ birth.

The shepherds experienced atmospheric worship, The Glory of Lord shone all around them, because they were in the right place, at the right time, doing what God had intended for them to do. Are we in the right place? Doing what God has intended for us?

Pray

Heavenly Father. Help us to know, Jesus more intimately through our daily worship, by shining your light in the areas we need to develop within us. Allowing us to join with the heavenly hosts, Glorifying and magnify your holy name. Amen

Act

Have we fully accepted Jesus into our lives, do we Glorify God with our whole hearts? Ask God to help you, make known, the dark aspects of our hearts to allow the full Glory of God’s presence, to reign in your Hearts forever.
