Beaminster Nativity Festival

Across the first weekend in December St Mary’s Church Beaminster will be hosting a Nativity Festival for the Beaminster Team. This is a bit like a Christmas tree festival but instead of Christmas Trees we will be displaying Nativity sets. We also have a range of activities planned for the weekend to engage our local community.

If you would like to lend your Nativity set for the exhibition we would love to hear from you. All Nativity sets are welcome: large, small, wooden, plastic, hand carved, mass produced, local, from far away, old, new. Everything is welcome.

If you submit your Nativity set you will be asked to fill in an exhibition card to go alongside it to record any interesting stories or facts to accompany it.

To enter a Nativity set into the festival please email revneary@gmail.com.

We can then arrange to collect it for you or you can drop it down to St Mary’s on Thursday 30th November.

On Friday 1st December our exhibition will open at 6pm. We will process from the Square with lights and Nativity figures at 6pm and then the festival will open with a prayer, followed by music from Prout Bridge Band, festive refreshments and a carol singalong.

On Saturday 2nd December the exhibition will be open from 11am until 4pm for general visitors. We will also host a Messy Church session from 10-11am and a community film night, showing  the British musical comedy film Nativity! from 5-7pm.

On Sunday 3rd December there will be our usual worship at 8am and 9.30am. The exhibition will open at 11am with a quiet hour until 12noon, then continuing until 2pm. The Nativity Festival weekend will conclude with our Advent Carol service at 6pm.

Come and join in our Nativity festivities by being part of the hosting team, lending a Nativity set, or coming to join in across the weekend. For any further details please email revneary@gmail.com
