Construction Work at Beaminster

This summer there’s major building work being carried out at St Mary’s Church Beaminster.

For approximately six weeks starting on the 8th July 2024 some building work will be carried out both inside and outside the church building in Beaminster.

We ask your forbearance during this time and will do our best to ensure that you will not be too inconvenienced.

The work involves drainage and sewage connections from the Mort House (kitchen) and from the new accessible toilet and cleaner’s cupboard in the vestry.

New kitchen units to match the existing will be built in the Mort House and an oven, hood, and dishwasher will be installed.

At the rear of the church the existing cage covering the steps down to the Crypt will be removed, the area paved, and manhole cover installed for access. This will allow wheelchairs and prams better access to the south door and burial areas.

Sunday worship and daytime visitors to the main areas of the cChurch will not be affected..

Should any problems arise during the works or if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
