Reflect
“Having a baby isn’t going to change our lives.” I have often heard those words – and kept very quiet. Because the reality is that the baby will totally change their lives – having a child tends to knock the rough edges off the parents. It is like “a refiners fire and like fuller’s soap.” How different is that to the way that we look forward to the birth of the Christ child? Have you allowed the coming (Advent) of Christ to change your life?
Pray
Lord, help me to be realistic in my anticipation of celebrating your coming into the world. Help me to understand and accept the ups and downs of life as your follower.
Act
Do something for someone else that takes you out of your comfort zone.
