An Advent reflection by Patrick Evans.
Read
Zephaniah 3:14 Sing aloud, O daughter Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter Jerusalem!
Reflect
Zephania was one of the minor prophets during the reign of King Josiah[640-609BC]. The first two chapters from Zephaniah are filled with woe, judgement, doom, and the Day of The Lord on Judah and Jerusalem in particular for their rebellion and ignoring God. Then Ch 3 begins to speak of a remnant to be preserved, the mood dramatically changes and Zephaniah glances ahead. God is to be trusted. He will not let the nation nor it’s people go. The acclamations startle us with this outpouring of praise and joy.
Pray
May I be more open to your spirit of faithfulness and alert to celebrate your goodness.
Act
So why not write down all for which you are thankful.
