“When Joseph awoke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him; he took her as his wife. – Matthew 1:24.
Reflection
When I read this verse, I wondered what I would have done in Joseph’s position.
My heart might have told me to marry the woman I loved; my head might have urged me to do what family and friends thought was socially acceptable at that time. “You can’t marry her; she is already pregnant.”
Or maybe the decision was much simpler – as someone who believed and trusted in God, surely I would have listened and obeyed.
So, I would be choosing to follow Him, rather than taking the easy path, trusting that God would support me in facing the difficulties that lie ahead.
Pray
Lord, thank you for your unfailing love, and for being there with me in difficult times. Please help me to listen carefully so that I can hear your message.
Act
Life can be stressful. Make time every day to listen to what God is saying to you.
