Reflection
Magi, wise men, were advisers to kings – think Dominic Cummings? – and were travelling from modern day Iran. They observed the stars to work out the complexities of Middle Eastern power politics, their rise and fall. An unusual double conjunction of stars in the Holy Land’s area of sky brought them to Jerusalem, and to fading King Herod, looking for a new King, and possibly work. Very Unwise.
The birth of Jesus, Messiah, in Bethlehem ten miles from Jerusalem, was significant to the wider world.

For wisdom for those who work for good, and for God, in the complexities of our modern world. And those who seek to shape our common future in an era of change and uncertainty.
